(1) There will be a village assembly in each rural municipality.
(2) In the village assembly according to sub-section (1), there will be village executive chairman and vice-chairman, ward chairman and four members elected from each ward and members of the village executive elected from Dalit or minority communities as per sub-section (4) of section 215.
(3) At least two women from each ward will be represented in the village assembly formed according to sub-section (1).
(4) According to the federal law, a ward committee consisting of a ward chairman and four members will be formed in each ward in the rural municipality. The election of such ward chairman and ward member will be done according to the election system of the first to be elected.
(5) A person whose name is included in the electoral roll of the rural municipality who has completed eighteen years of age shall have the right to vote as provided in the federal law.
(6) A person having the following qualifications shall be eligible to be a candidate for the post of a member of the Village Assembly:-
(a) Nepali citizens,
(b) having completed the age of twenty-one years,
(c) whose name is included in the electoral roll of the rural municipality, and
(d) not disqualified by any law.
(7) The election of the village assembly and other related arrangements shall be in accordance with the federal law.
